Sometimes, photos may print with an unusual color cast, such as appearing more red or blue. This issue typically occurs with the Kodak 305 printer due to inconsistencies in Kodak's manufacturing process. Each time a customer installs a new ribbon, slight variations in color can occur. Follow these steps to resolve the issue.
What You'll Need
- Access to the customer’s computer via TeamViewer.
- Approximately 10-15 minutes of the customer’s time.
Verify Screen Colors:
- Check the previously processed photos on the customer’s computer.
- Ensure the colors look accurate on the screen before printing.
- Print a recent passport photo to assess the current output quality.
If all ok, open Printer Color Settings:
- Click the printer icon located on the left side of the screen.
- This will open the printer’s color settings.
- Print a test photo.
- Ask the customer to describe the photo. Does it need more or less red, blue, or magenta? Use the +/- scale in the color settings to make minor adjustments based on the customer’s feedback. For example, if the photo appears too red, reduce the red value slightly. Make small adjustments to avoid overshooting the desired color balance.
- Test and Repeat: Print another test photo after each adjustment. Repeat this process until the test print colors look accurate.
